lyrics
Everything has its tide
All things rise and fall
Such a fool to think you’re above it all
Don’t give anyone the blame
We have the same name
You’re responsible
For their rise to fame
Comment wars and camera whores
Just thank your lucky stars
Designer lives and perfect wives
We want you to believe in
Politics that just restrict
The mask they hide behind
Take away your liberties
The truth you will find
Don’t you know that you’re alone
Infinity has a price to be paid
And maybe it’s time
To see what we have, an illusion of control
We walk towards the lie
Making it our solid truth
As we ensure that the person inside will be defined by code
Can you feel the cold
Can you hear the lies
Digital junkie in paradise
We’ve become what we’ve always despised
No need for recollection
External memories
That exist outside your mind
You can be anyone you want to be
Live out your archaic fantasy
It’s easy to spill your guts
Flaming threads and trolling sluts
Books of faces, all my spaces
Glorifying your existence
All this online innuendo
Anonymous crescendo
Hatred to communicate
Real life will have to wait
Don’t you know that you’re alone
Infinity has a price to be paid
And maybe it’s time
To see what we have, an illusion of control
We walk towards the lie
Making it our solid truth
As we ensure that the person inside will be defined by code
Can you feel the cold
Can you hear the lies
Digital junkie in paradise
We’ve become what we’ve always despised
We do not stop, we will go
There is no rise, only falling
Do get lost in the system
Digital entity, death of identity
And only remembered by code
Can you feel the cold
Can you hear the lies
Can you feel the cold
Can you hear the lies
Don’t you know that you’re alone
Infinity has a price to be paid
And maybe it’s time
To see what we have, an illusion of control
We walk towards the lie
Making it our solid truth
As we ensure that the person inside will be defined by code
5. ORIGINS
This is the fire
In which I burn
Return to ashes
It is my turn
With the fire from my heart
I’ll burn the world
Like a phoenix arises
On the dawn of its return
Black and white fade into grey
As it slowly reveals the price you pay
Differing degrees
Dark and decadent
Reconcile the truth
The apotheosis of the sinners
It’s men becoming god
Blinded by his holy light
This ignorance is human blight
Salvation does not come without its ultimate price
Prepare for sacrifice
Reconnect and rediscover
Resurrect and rectify
The ancients have blessed me
With the origins of knowing why
As my paradigm shifts
My third eye makes me see
Images of untold intensity
Reconnect, rediscover
Resurrect and rectify
As we destroy
We do create
I am the cause
But not affected
I am the player instead of the pawn
Spiraling upwards
I feel my world change
Is it all around or just inside of me
Now I will dare you to believe
(Don’t be)
Don’t be dictated by anyone other than yourself
I shall take vengeance upon my enemies
And repay those who hate me
For whoever shed man’s blood
By man shall his blood be shed
For in the image of men
We made god
Reconnect and rediscover
Resurrect and rectify
The ancients have blessed me
With the origins of knowing why
As my paradigm shifts
My third eye makes me see
Images of untold intensity
Reconnect, rediscover
Resurrect and rectify
Knowing of the sanctity
The integrated illusion of fidelity
Never lose hope
Know that your truth has always been there
Don’t ever stop and stare
Don’t be dictated by anyone
Don’t be dictated by anyone but yourself
Sunless Rise takes its cue from Children of Bodom, especially in the use of the synths, which are definitely the most prominent aspect of the band's music. They provide a melodic whirlwind and a lot of energy. Mostly electronic, like a video game sound, but also symphonic at times, to bring an epic atmosphere. The whole combined with high speed guitar riffs and thunderous drums. That's the kind of refreshing and upbeat modern melodeath which would delight all the fans of the genre. Monia Lisa
An assembly line of crushing doom, blistering death-rock, and misery-laden black-metal, powered by a one-man torture machine. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 30, 2018
7/10
The vocalist reminds me of Johan Hegg and "Scars of War" or "Two Words" do have lyrics and riffs, that could also be taken from Amon Amarth songs. But SGs backpack is filled with more: 31min title track, great instrumentals, great guest vocals; great melodeath. (and that album cover!) Karyl
